Conflict Over Budge Chair SEC Probe Stokes Partisan War
Washington lawmakers clash over conflict of interest claims against Homer H. Budge, SEC chairman, who pondered why he rejected an $80,000 fund presidency offer. Republicans say no wrongdoing. Democrats consider executive action for possible criminal prosecution. Budge warned the inquiry could threaten his chairmanship as he denied counter offers or rule violations.
