Nine dead as attack on Indian consulate in Jalalabad

A car bomb and gunfire rocked Jalalabad near the Indian consulate Saturday, killing nine bystanders including six children and wounding 24. Police say two militants attacked with explosive vests at a checkpoint, a third detonated the car bomb, and all attackers died. Officials tie suspicion to Pakistan-based groups Lashkar-e-Taiba and Haqqani network. Taliban deny involvement.
