Franklin Man Stull Fights Establishment

Robert William Mayer once known for refusing to comb his hair challenges authority again. The 24 year old former Franklin resident was arrested June 3 for hitchhiking on Interstate 80 in California en route to Berkeley. He has refused fingerprinting photographing and identifying himself, using the alias John Doe Galt. Police identified him by prints from his dinnerware. Mayer says identification burdens his past and cites Atlas Shrugged. He has lived largely on the road over eight years and worked at Armco Steel Corp last summer. The 1964 hair style dispute seems quaint today.
