Eye field maps map vision health and disease
Ophthalmologists use two field-of-vision maps produced by an IBM system at UT Southwestern to detect early eye diseases. One map shows blind spots as craters, the other as islands with peaks of best vision. A patient gazes at a center screen and moves a lever toward blips. doctors adjust blip size intensity and duration to chart blind spots.
