Coal Demands To Increase As Scientist Predicts Fuel Gap
Cincinnati AP Dr John S Yellott warned at the American Mining Congress coal convention that national fuel needs in the coming decade will drive a rapid rise in coal demand. He noted existing supply demand balance has vanished and petroleum use could exceed 7 million barrels daily by 1950. He identified three inevitable factors: fluid fuel deficiency, Marshall Plan coal exports over 40 million tons in 12 months, and fuel interchangeability among coal oil and gas.
