Harriman Names Corsi to State Refugee Panel
Governor Harriman revived the State Committee on Refugees and named Edward Corsi among 17 members. Corsi, ousted April 10 by Secretary of State Dulles as a refugee consultant, criticized the move as shabby and un-Christian. Harriman said Eisenhower and Dulles offered no support when weather grew rough, noting Corsi’s efforts to carry out the president’s pledge. He had offered Corsi the post after the Washington dismissal. The unpaid committee, led by Corsi during Dewey’s term, aims to place refugees in jobs and housing.

Judge Seeks Parole for Killer William Kay
In Harrisburg a judge who meted life for murder urged the state pardons board to grant Kay clemency. Judge L Stauffer Oliver noted Kay, 30, WWII veteran with five battle stars, deserved a lesser sentence. Kay confessed to the prewar slaying during a robbery bid and asked that he be killed in war. An accomplice, Charles E Haberbeck, 30, got 4 to 10 years for second degree murder and has been paroled.
