River Plan To Be Aired In Lebanon
About 100 proponents of federal inclusion of a mile stretch of the Little Miami River under the Wild and Scenic River Act are to speak at an 8 p.m. Lebanon High School hearing. Ray Custer of Little Miami, Inc. says several groups will send reps. This is the second of two meetings to finalize a study team's report to the secretary of the interior. If approved, federal protection would apply, a shift conservationists say adds weight beyond state or local authorities. The earlier Yellow Springs hearing drew 125 people with questions on implementation, noting the report has no official status and no timeline for federal acceptance.
