After last night's City Commission meeting parallel parking on Broad Street between First and Manchester Avenues will stay but not expand. The dispute highlighted downtown parking and the need for off street facilities. Patterson urged restoration of angle parking while Finkleman argued for public interest over merchants. The commission ordered petitions checked for car ownership and licenses, and rescinded extra parallel spots along Broad Street.
