Fighter bombers near Phnom Penh strike from Mekong river
US fighter-bombers attacked Communist positions on the east bank of the Mekong about six to eight miles from Phnom Penh. The offensive has left a stretch of highway closed and entrenched Communist forces guarding roads to the provinces. Kep fell and government troops retook part of the village before being forced out again. Thmat Pong hill near Highway 4 saw heavy fighting with 20 killed and 30 wounded. Takeoville, 39 miles south of Phnom Penh, remains encircled and under attack.

Warren County women injured in one car crash
