Sheriff to sue over trial cost reimbursement
Warren County commissioners refused to reimburse Sheriff Roy Wallace about 30,000 for legal costs from last August’s charges. The sheriff, not convicted on six charges, says the county should pay, while the prosecutor notes indemnity only if Wallace is indigent and that officeholders aren’t automatically liable. Wallace planned civil action to recover expenses.

Aging Council seeks funds to preserve Warren County services
David Smith director of the Warren County Council on Aging urged the county commissioners to provide about 13 500 dollars for July through September to cover salaries for three CETA funded workers after federal support ends. He warned programs like nutrition homemaker and Dial a Bus would be cut without interim funds. A surplus of 20 000 to 40 000 dollars in leftover CETA funds may be available for interim use. Public hearings on the 1978 Community Development program were set for April 26 27 and May 2 with May 15 application deadlines at HUD.
