Mother Freed From German Prison Reunited With Son
Mrs. Wilma Ybarbo freed from a Frankfurt verdict for shooting her husband returned to New Bedford Massachusetts to reunite with her six year old son Jimmy. New Drug Stops Cancer Growth In Experiments With Animals
A new drug Guanazole halted growth of three cancer types in mice by fooling cancer cells into needing a substitute. Normal cells were unaffected. Dr. George W. Kidder reported at the American Association for Cancer Research, noting human efficacy and safety trials remain years away. In tests on breast cancers, transplanted tumors, and a form of leukemia, tumors stopped growing during treatment and resumed after withdrawal.
