Bobby Magers, a 16 year old with cystic fibrosis, was sentenced to six years at the Colorado State Reformatory for robbery. He also faces adult trials for a police officer shooting and two more robberies.
Milton Harriott 28 of Conway was charged with murder after a collision on Interstate 95 near Columbia left Atlas Emerson Williams 62 dead. Harriott allegedly beat Williams with a pipe and assaulted several others, injuring a teenage girl and a highway patrolman before deputies restrained him.
Thunderstorms and two tornadoes touched down near the upper coastal Plains while eastern Texas faced flash flood risk from heavy rains. Brownsville recorded nearly 3 inches in six hours as storms spread into Oklahoma and Kansas, with showers extending from the Pacific Northwest to the Idaho Panhandle and clearing conditions elsewhere.
