A Harris poll shows 46 percent find John W Dean III more credible than President Nixon on Watergate, up from 38 percent last July. The survey of 1,495 adults conducted March 24 to 29 also finds 29 percent favor Nixon, with 25 percent unsure.
Lebanon urged the Security Council to use effective measures to halt cross border Israeli raids after an attack on six Lebanese villages. The debate followed an assault linked to an Arab guerrilla attack on Qiryat Shmonah that left 18 Israelis and three Arabs dead.
The FBI seeks Patricia Hearst on a material witness warrant linked to a bank robbery by the Symbionese Liberation Army in San Francisco.
