Government to sue networks over prime time programming
The Justice Department plans civil antitrust suits against CBS NBC ABC and Viacom alleging monopolization of prime time television entertainment. Officials say suits target networks and related firms but would not discuss ramifications or possible alternatives. CBS ABC NBC declined comment. Viacom operates independent cable and syndication.

Mexican father hijacks jet to tell his story
A 37 year old Mexican father of eight hijacked a Frontier Airlines 737 near Socorro New Mexico. He ordered the plane to land at Los Angeles and kept four crew aboard while 27 passengers de boarded. He gave a long broadcast from the cockpit blaming personal troubles and social injustices, later surrendering after the gun he waved was found empty. He said he had no criminal intent and hoped to return to work and support his family.

High Waters End Trip For Dayton Pioneers Canoe Float
Seven Dayton muzzleloader enthusiasts attempting a three day 60 mile canoe float from Bellbrook to Cincinnati faced high water on the Little Miami River.
