Cincinnati AP reports 33 year old Thelma Jean Dean, mother of two, is missing. Her bloodied car was found on a street. police, led by Capt. Harry Schlie, say they assume homicide given the evidence. Clint Dean, the husband, was questioned and released. six others also questioned.
A solemn funeral in Norfolk honors General Douglas MacArthur with Taps and cannon, as flags dip and the 84 year old wartime hero is laid to rest in the MacArthur Memorial crypt. Dignitaries including Gen. Robert F. Kennedy attend after services at St Paul Episcopal Church.
Nor folk Virginia AP Arthur MacArthur son of General Douglas MacArthur and Gen Carlos Romulo visited the MacArthur Memorial and pledged more gifts. They inspected nine galleries of the general's personal mementoes and noted cartoons from Truman's Korea decision, while MacArthur recalled a familiar hallway display.
Henry Green, 72, formerly of Cleveland, operated ASCOT Park and River Downs. He is indicted on income tax evasion for underreporting 1957 income by 6,003 dollars. Government says interest from a Cleveland savings account accounts for the difference. Green left Cleveland in 1958 and now resides in Las Vegas Nevada.

A six year old girl named Ona Lee Fuller leaped five stories from a Harlem roof after pleas from two priests her guardian and several policemen. She landed in a net in front of about 3000 spectators and was taken to a hospital suffering from shock and hysteria. The girl had come to New York seven months earlier from Ithaca New York to live with Lt Charles West of the Salvation Army at the Manhattan Citadel on East 12th Street.
Havana officials call for a 30 year sentence for Frank Emmick of Rossford Ohio, and six Cubans accused of hiring him to spy for the CIA. The trial, held Thursday, was disclosed by the U S Embassy. Emmick allegedly provided military information to John Hlavacek and hired Cubans to photograph missile sites. Emmick denies the charges, and his attorney says he is harmless.
Civil rights groups win a permanent injunction allowing limited picketing at two Cleveland school construction sites. Ten demonstrators may protest on sidewalks and must avoid violence or trespass. violators face fines or up to 10 days in jail. The decision follows a fatal bulldozer accident at a protest and potential U S Supreme Court appeal.
Brazil moves toward a new president under military backed rule. Gen Humberto Castelo Branco is expected to win a presidency with sweeping powers through an institutional act and will serve the remainder of Joao Goulart's term ending January 31, 1966. Congress vacillates as critics warn of rule by junta while others urge restoration of order amid inflation and unrest.
In Roseville California two hundred fifty switchmen voted to fire their officers after a meeting urging a return to work during a one day railroad strike postponement. Frank Young led the move and immediately left the meeting. A federal injunction was issued to prevent further unsanctioned work stoppages at five Northern California yards.
Washington AP reports federal mediators press for a voluntary agreement in the rail labor dispute under President Johnson. Talks at the White House, with Wirtz and others, aim to avert a strike while preparing emergency legislation as a last resort.
In Jackson Mississippi the state continues to press its case that a 1917 Enfield rifle owned by Byron De La Beckwith killed Medgar Evers. The trial resumes on a Saturday to finish the case by midweek with testimony about the rifle found near the sniper’s vantage point and claimed to match a weapon Beckwith once owned.
NEW LEXINGTON Ohio AP Terry Brown five years old was crushed to death after tumbling from a bulldozer driven by his father on a farm near Junction City.
U N and Communist members of the Military Armistice Commission met at Panmunjom for 49 minutes. The Communists read a list of ground sea and air violations allegedly committed by the U N during the last few months. The UN replied that it will investigate the charges.
Al Ahram reports that President Gamal Abdel Nasser has resumed informal exchanges with President Lyndon Johnson. Nasser’s reply to Johnson’s latest letter is to be delivered in Washington Monday. Embassy sources say the Kennedy Nasser exchanges, unusual but useful, had served a valuable purpose.
