Ohio Senate stalls on Rhodes big appropriation bills

In Columbus the Ohio Senate remains split as the Republicans and Democrats feud over two major appropriations. The Highway and Highway Safety bill seeks 888 million for 1965 67, backed by a 16 13 vote with three Democrats abstaining. A separate push condemns the Ku Klux Klan as hooded bigots with bills to outlaw Klan activity. The House sent to the Senate several measures including safety promotion funding and a 13 million Ohio Historical Society appropriation, plus bail bondsman licensing and reduced population requirements for community college districts.
