Alfred E. Rust aged 50 committed suicide Sunday at Russell funeral home in Grafton after riding from Elyria. He knocked at the door and shot himself through the temple. He left notes for the undertaker the coroner and a brother in law.

Body Found In Suitcase Mother Held

A suitcase amid shrubs and weeds contained 4 year old Susan Shaw's body in a vacant Los Angeles lot. Det. Sgt. Harry Hansen said the mother, Jean Elizabeth Shaw, 35, led detectives to the spot after a police interview. Susan's death was said to be several days old. The mother is held on suspicion of a serious crime in a mental health ward. Her husband, Prentice W. Shaw, 42, an Iowa attorney, flew to Los Angeles and awaited autopsy results to determine the cause of death.

DETROIT A U S Public Health Service official said shortages may ease this summer to allow one Salk vaccine shot for about 53 million people aged 1 to 14 and for pregnant women. The Church World Service reports five Russian sailors who sought asylum in the United States were frightened to return to the Soviet Union. They say they received letters from parents in Russia urging their return.
