Fire Hits Trailer on Route 73 Causes $1500 Loss
Fire at a trailer west of Engle's Corner damaged the structure by about $1000 and its contents by around $500. The blaze occurred at 2:33 p.m. caused by rags around a stove vent to keep water out. Mrs Nannie Carroza and her three children lived there. Ed Hatton owned the trailer on Manchester Road.

Carroll Death, 102 South Broad St, reported the theft of a bicycle licensed 16 069 from that address yesterday. Nancy Hays, 22 Ardmore Dr, was bitten on the lip by a dog yesterday. Roy Haddix, 47, at large, and Logan Miller, 67, of Middletown Hamilton Rd, were arrested yesterday on violations of court orders. The orders required the men to stay out of Middletown. Carl Fender, 40, of 22 South Broad St, was arrested yesterday at his home on charges of issuing checks without sufficient funds. The warrant was signed by Fred Fahrenholz service station operator.

He asked to be sent to a state hospital. Police described spotting him early, and later finding him inside the church while rifling through papers and striking matches.

George E Yost Dies at 56 Armco Employee
George Edward Yost 56 of 1531 Central Ave died after being stricken in a physician’s office Tuesday morning and dying shortly after admission to Middletown Hospital. An Armco employee since 1936 he was a World War I Navy veteran and long active in local sports leagues. He is survived by wife Isabelle and three sons Richard, Robert, and James. Funeral arrangements are pending with McCoy Leffler and Red Cross aid for the returning son.

Wife and child vanish on Cincinnati shopping trip
Mrs Romilda Bennett aged 23 and her foster child Terry 5 failed to return from a shopping trip to Cincinnati. The husband reported their disappearance and said she had about 300 dollars with her. Head On Crash Injures Two Florida Residents In Ohio
Four people were injured and two motorists cited after crashes near West Chester and Mason. Elsa McDonald of Kissimmee Florida, 59, suffered a crushed chest and lacerations. The body of Cpl. Robert Eugene Tibbs of Middletown, 24, killed in Korea, is among 158 Americans aboard the SS Southwestern Victory en route to the United States. Tibbs left Osaka July 14 1950 bound for Korea and was listed missing July 29 before being confirmed killed in action near Chirea.
