After the tornado struck the east side of Pisgah in Butler County, residents kept light hearts with humorous yard signs like After Storm Sale and Lowest Cost. A family priced wrecked house debris at 69 cents, while a home labeled Custard’s Last Stand referenced a literary pun on a Grimes Photos shot.
Sen. Lowell Weicker says he has documents showing the White House used the IRS to pry into politicians and entertainers. He testifies at hearings on political spying and warrantless taps, citing Ulasewicz investigations and White House memos.
Government forecasters described a massive tornado outbreak last week with radar echoes reaching 63 000 to 65 000 feet. They warned warnings could have saved lives and praised the Weather Service for rapid action using satellite and radar data.

Increasing cloudiness and warmer conditions are forecast for southwestern Ohio today with a chance of showers by late afternoon. Temperatures should reach the mid 60s by afternoon and fall to the low 40s tonight, with a 50 percent chance of rain tonight and again tomorrow as clouds persist. Tomorrow looks cloudy and cooler with a high in the 50s and continued rain chances at fifty percent.
Nixon administration warns of sharp rises in health care costs over the next 12 to 15 months if price controls expire on April 30. Hospital charges could jump 16 to 17 percent, physician fees about 9 percent, and nursing home charges 14 percent. Without controls, total health spending in fiscal 1975 could reach 88 billion, with major increases in hospital and professional services and higher insurance premiums.
