Marine files damage suit over Ferrum incident

Garland M. Layton, a Purple Heart Marine veteran from Richmond, sues Ferrum Junior College and its president Dr. Nathaniel H. Davis for 50000 alleging malicious and wrongful dismissal after a campus run-in on March 17. A court order for reinstatement was denied. Layton claims Davis grabbed him by the shoulders and coat and threatened to cite school rules while the student was not at work due to bad weather.
