Nixon impoundment ruling upholds highway funds halt

The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Nixon acted illegally in withholding 89 million dollars in Missouri highway funds. The court said Congress funds may not be withheld for purposes unrelated to the highway program. Concurring judge Lay said the 1956 highway act does not allow such withholding.

Newport News flier recalls eating rats in POW camp

Robert T. White a 32 year old army flyer from Newport News Virginia told Grissom Elementary students about trapping and eating rats during captivity with humor about the experience. He said rats are not bad and expressed appreciation for the welcome from the base. White was released by the Viet Cong last weekend and will depart for the United States Wednesday.
