Bennie Work, 29, of Camden Rt 3, was injured while operating a paper machine cutter knife during the night shift at Diamond Gardner. He underwent immediate surgery at 2:20 a.m. at Middletown Hospital and was listed in satisfactory condition later that morning.

Ohio bond sales for February show a dip with Series E and H savings bonds reaching 25 percent of a two month total of 362 million. January-February 1958 sales were just over 60 million. Nationwide February E and H sales exceeded 383 million, with FE and H outstanding rising to 42 percent billion. Two Minor Injuries From City Traffic Crashes
Two people sustained slight injuries in separate city crashes yesterday. Eloise Alfrey, 36, and William Alfrey Jr., 37, both of 1206 Forrer Street, were hurt when their vehicles collided at Verity Parkway and 14th Avenue. Donald Francis, 32, of 1026 Kunz Avenue, was cited for a red light violation. Damages about 250 dollars. Edward Sicking, 39, of 2005 Oxford State Road, injured when a panel struck his car, and Orville Martin Jr., 27, of 1737 Central Avenue, collided in the 3400 block of Tytus Avenue. Sicking treated and dismissed after X-rays. damages about 235 dollars. Police cited Joseph Ramos, 53, Dayton, for disregarding an overhead directional sign after a collision with George Ross, 31, 2468 Wilhelm Road, at Clinton Street and Central Avenue. Damage about 25 dollars.

Hearing Waived By Local Youth On Check Charge
Donald Banks twenty one of 1329 Fairmount Ave waived a hearing before Commissioner Graham P Hunt Jr in Cincinnati on a charge of stealing and cashing a Ohio unemployment check. Bond set at two thousand dollars. Banks admitted taking a thirty seven dollar check from a mailbox and cashing it at a Covington Kentucky brewery. He was previously bound over on embezzlement charges involving eleven hundred dollars from M&B Distributing Co. The truck rental and beer purchases were cited as funds. Banks traveled to Chicago and returned before arrest in Middletown on the embezzlement count.

Initial unemployment claims in the Middleton BUC office 365 fell 2 percent in March versus February 1959, a 52 percent drop from February 1958. Extended benefits filings included 55 claims by exhausted regulars, with total benefits claims averaging 768 per week, down from 1016 weekly in February. Matches show many claimants returning to work. March 1938 weekly claims were 1780 without extensions, a 57 percent drop.
