Lifting Order On Gas Heating Ban Not Yet Received Locally
Arch Robison of Middletown Gas and Electric Co says no official word from the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio on lifting the October 13 ban on new gas heating installations. The commission’s order allows medical hardship and new construction to install gas on a 50-50 basis if supply remains, but reserves full gas for other uses. The shortage is expected to last through the 1948 49 winter, with restrictions on industrial use remaining in effect and potential cuts in emergency situations.
