The Middletown Evening Press lists delivery by carriers at ten cents a week and four cents per single copy. Mail subscriptions are $4.00 per year, $2.00 for six months, and $1.00 for three months with postal charges noted. The Orange County Press weekly is issued Sundays with a $2.00 per year advance rate.
Mr. A. B. Deming is the general agent for the Middletown Evening Press in Middletown and will oversee village delivery and collections every two weeks. Single copies may be bought at Deming's, Morgan & Sloat's, and Vail's Bookstore for cents.

On February 1, 1872 the N Y and O Midland begins regular service to Liberty Falls, 38 miles from Middletown, via the Shawangunk tunnel now completed and safe. Two daily trains Middletown to Liberty Falls, three on Ellenville branch, two on Crawford Branch, with W P McKinley and C Masten coordinating the timetable.

Port Jervis Savings Bank began March 1, 1870 and reported deposits of 64000 on January 1, 1871 with 42000 on hand. By January 1, 1872 the balance rose to 90000, operating at an annual expense of 1500.
