First Train Through Shawangunk Tunnel Reported
On a Wednesday the first train, engine Orange No. 7 with two freight cars and one passenger car, left Middletown at 11 35 A M for the Shawangunk tunnel. It reached the tunnel mouth at noon and, after a brief delay, passed through to Liberty Falls and returned by 6 30 P M without incident. The tunnel is not yet open to regular service though the track is smooth and roofing complete. The tunnel is expected to handle heavy travel between the lakes and the sea.

Robbery near Goshen suspect arrest but discharged
Michael Kelly of Chester was robbed of about $60 while walking along the railway east of Goshen around midnight Saturday. He later caused the arrest of Frank Mcclaughlin and Charles Godfrey, who were discharged after proving they were at a saloon earlier in the evening.
