Fires rage on Shawangunk Mountain woods area
Last week a heavy fire swept the woods on the western side of Shawangunk Mountain between Wurtsboro and Ellenville. It destroyed large quantities of cold wood and bark and burned fence lines near Homewack. Sweezy reportedly lost much wood for the Midland Company. Gale and Chamberlain lost about three hundred cords. Fires subsided Sunday as ground along the track between Bloomingburgh and Middle Town burned in patches.

Moore paid $2000 and received a deed to the wrong farm, later discovered and sheriff sold for $625.
