Eight year old Hazel Breen of Middletown says her mother was always good to her and her brother but vanished three weeks ago. Mrs William Breen left with her four year old son Bub after a farewell at The Herald office then rode to New York City with a stop said to be in Bridgeport Connecticut. The whereabouts of Mrs Breen and her son are unknown and the case remains a mystery with the child waiting for her mother’s return.

Sign Missing Near Quaker Kill Bridge Causes Crash
GOSHEN June 2 The missing sign near the Querkill Bridge on the state road led to a collision that hurled three people 25 feet to the tracks below. Isidore Maxfield Marcus Siekar and Nicholas Bruk escaped serious injuries though Maxfield suffered a deep ash wound. The trio were en route from New York to Sullivan County when the sign vanished and the curve proved fatal to sight lines. The motorcycle was wrecked and Maxfield hopes the sign will be restored before his next trip.

Lewis Finch Dies After Five Months Illness
Lewis Finch, a well known marketman, died Friday afternoon at 2:30 at his brother in law John W. Hunts home 49 Sprague avenue. He was 53, born in Monroe and came to the city at age seven to live with his aunt and uncle Mrs Walter McQuoid. He worked in his uncle’s butcher shop at East Main and Orchard and later took over the business. Survived by his wife Caroline Otter of Circleville a brother Grover Finch and two nephews Walter F McDowell of Pine Bush and Willem McDowell of Bloomingburg. Funeral tomorrow at 2:20 from the Hunt home with interment at Warwick.
