A troubled woman named Ella Carver, thought to be from Binghamton, wandered near Port Jervis on Monday and Tuesday. Authorities sought commitment to a state hospital while a separate report from Nyack Star notes a woman named Bila Carver detained for disorderly conduct near Suffern, claiming a rich uncle in Passaic and hoping to reach Scranton.
Port Jervis Amateur Opera Company staged The Gondoliers on Tuesday night. The Hulses seek ten thousand dollars for injuries and ten thousand for loss of companionship, plus five thousand for wifely services. they aim to press the town to settle or prepare for suit.
MAB and Collin’s terrier Boot was exhumed from the Collin residence yard after Mrs. Collin moved to Fairlawn Avenue. Trustees balked at cemetery burial, so the dog’s body was buried on land adjoining the cemetery. Also, 5000 yearling trout were released into Beaverkill by state authorities.
