Gov. Jones replied to a New York paper stating the Nevada prize-fight law is exceedingly unuseful and unacceptable in Arkansas. He said Arkansas would not tolerate prize fighting and noted his state’s legislature is considering a bill to make prize-fightings a felony.

Nassau N P February 1 reports the wreck of the American brig Rocky Glen capt Colbeth at Ragged Island in the Bahama group on December 21. The crew and materials were saved but the vessel is a total loss. The Rocky Glen was owned at Robbinston Maine.
