The ad touts a store for holiday gifts with an extensive "marvelous assortment" and low prices. It warns of later crowds, urges early shopping, and promises a wide up-to-date display of toys with free admission.
In the opening of the Fifty-fifth Congress session the Senate listened to the president's message as diplomats and spectators fill the chamber. House actions include bills on the standard of value and military investigations and a resolution praising Miss Helen Miller Gould for her wartime aid.
Fifty senators favor ratification of the peace treaty with three opposing and fourteen doubtful. The tally shows 50 backing the treaty with a two thirds vote likely for an extra session.
