Washington reports November's net public debt rise of 5.2 million with a cash drop of 9.22 million. Interest bearing debt stands at 347.36 million, non interest debt at 372.17 million, total debt 1.221 billion. Gold reserve at 100 million, surplus in national banks about 15.93 million.

Albany reports the death of Charles S Pease, famed general baggage master for the Delaware and Hudson and publisher of People’s Railroad Guide. Born in Thompsonville Conn on December 10 1833, he moved to Cohoes with his parents in 1868 and earned a national reputation in railroading. He served with the Troy City Guard and saw active duty in West Albany in 1877. Meantime in Waterbury a verdict of enmity was returned in the case of Dr Ralph Guidone for practicing medicine without license, with arrest of judgment granted until this afternoon pending appeal to the supreme court. In Washington Mrs Mary I Johnson wife of Jacob Johnson of Kernan’s Lyceum Theatre was found dead from gas, believed self inflicted. In Boston Alexander McIntosh 68 was killed by a fire engine at Charles and Poplar streets while responding to an alarm.
