Senor Canovas del Castillo, prime minister of Spain, was slain at Santa Agueda by an anarchist. The assassin fired three shots, and Canovas died after a prolonged agony with his wife present. The suspect, a Neapolitan named Rin sid, is believed to use an alias Michele Angine Gosh. The queen regent appointed the interior minister ad interim as the new premier.

Five Masked Robbers Shoot Farmer and Loot Home

Aug 3 near a village, George Stiles, a farmer, was overpowered by five masked men. He was shot in the thick and bound along with another man, a woman, and a boy. robbers took a watch and between 40 and 700 dollars from the safe and escaped. Embezzlement Charge Against King In Chicaso

United States Commissioner King was arrested on an embezzlement charge in Chicaso. The case involves a $200 amount cited by Mrs. Clyda Byrnes, a stenographer in King’s office, who says she gave a $300 draft to be collected. Colorado Springs April 3 William R Feltz did not jump from Pike's Peak due to cloud cover and falling snow. He ascended with large wings, two hours of adjustments were needed, and the postponement disappointed the crowd gathered with field glasses and telescopes.
