Phenix. August 2. M. E. Anderson, broker of 69 Wall Street New York, died of thirst and exposure in the desert north of Phenix after the couple’s caravan strayed while en route to visit their son at Cave Creek 360 miles north. Two Men Mutilated In Missouri Pacific Wreck
El Dorado Kansas August 2 The Missouri Pacific passenger train crashed into four loaded freight cars left on the Main track at Yates Center. The impact tore the tender and baggage car, set the wreck on fire and destroyed the locomotive. Engineer Jasper Clover and Fireman Cal Rowan, both of El Dorado, were probably fatally injured. Conductor Anderson and the baggage and expressman suffered bruises. Oliver and Rowan were sent to a hospital in Kansas City for treatment.
