Led by Mrs Elizabeth Virrick the group pushed a city ordinance for flush toilets and sinks as minimums in slum areas. Loans at 2 percent interest with small installments will be arranged by a local bank. Applications for aid were filed by 53 families.

Lincoln Fields Negro Apartment Project Under Construction
Work has begun on Lincoln Fields, a 316 unit development for Negroes in the South, on NW 62nd St between 20th and 21st Aves. Led by Sam Sacks and Nathan B. Rood, the City Construction Co. builds six buildings now, with completion targeted within 12 months and about 1.5 million dollars in cost. Each unit will have parking and supervised playgrounds.

Man Missing 21 Days Found Dead in Florida
Albert Morris, 49, of 349 NW 16th Terrace, had been missing since October 19. Police say he was found dead November 9 at Mattheson’s Hammock, likely from drowning after leaving home during the American Legion National Convention parade to witness the grand spectacle. His body was decayed on discovery and identified after burial. Survived by wife Edna Morris and two children.

Nabbed Bandit Admits 8 Thefts
Leon Butler, 26, of 1262 NW 60th St, was arrested after fleeing a patrolman on NW 17th Ave and 36th St. The officer stopped him when he reached for a coat pocket and found a pistol. Butler admitted eight burglaries in October and November, mostly northwest area, with loot about $1,000.
