Miami issues 1000 permits in two weeks under new emergency law

Miami builders rushed to obtain 1000 permits before the May 17 enforcement of an emergency ordinance backed by Commissioner George DuBreuil. Accidental Slaying Probed in Houston Killing

Houston police probe questions how a 35-year-old Black man was shot dead while being transported to headquarters for questioning in a rape case. Miami to graduate record 664 seniors from four high schools

Miami will award 664 diplomas next month marking the largest class in the city's history. Northwestern leads with 306 graduates, followed by Booker T. Washington with 214, George W. Carver with 85, and Mays with 59 diplomas in the Dade County commencement.

Three Gunmen Rob Liquor Store on Seventh Avenue

Three gunmen held up The Seventh Avenue Liquor at 915 NW 7th Ave on Monday after tying and gagging clerk Sam Walton. One man entered alone to order a beer and a vodka, then a gun was shown as the other two entered.
