Florida flood control funding eyed in 1951 budget request

Escaped Convicts Kill Three Children in Mississippi
In Kosciusko Mississippi three escaped Attala county jail inmates killed three Black children and wounded another and their father in a revenge attack. Malcolm Whitt was arrested soon after. Leon Turner age 38 and Wendell Whitt age 24 were captured by a 100‑man posse days later.

Two Named In Jury Fix Case In Fort Lauderdale
Contempt orders were prepared naming Robert Franks, operator of a private detective agency, and Henry A Marshall, transfer company operator, after they were accused of trying to corrupt jurors. Out of 43 jurors called, 19 testified they were talked with about the first degree murder trial of Ira R. Giddens, game warden. Giddens is accused of shooting James Jones on Dixie highway on April 7 after an argument at a nearby service station.
