Death Suspect Cleared At Hearing

Washington Woman 100 Dies at Barnes and Matthews Funeral
Mrs Mildred Straughn, a former slave who celebrated her 100th birthday last November 27, died after a brief illness. Born on a Farnham Virginia farm, she learned freedom at 15 and later worked as a paid house servant. She mothered six children and left behind about 75 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
