An 8:15 p.m. kickoff is planned as 25 000+ fans expected. the mammoth parade starts at Booker T. Washington High School and winds through downtown streets before dispersing.

Champ Louis to Box in 6 Round Exhibition at Orange Bowl

Promoter Wille Slater plans a six round exhibition featuring world heavyweight champion Joe Louis at the Orange Bowl on Tuesday January 25. Opponent unnamed. proceeds partly to TM Lincoln Memorial Hospital and John Griffin Legion Post. A heavyweight tournament may follow December 14 at Dorsey Park, with Holman vs Jones leading to subsequent bouts and a final six round exhibition with the Victor facing Cur tis Sheppard, Elmer Ray, or Rusty Payne.

The city commission unanimously voted to begin slum clearance in downtown Miami. A resolution directs City Manager O P Hart to prepare an ordinance funding data collection to back an application for federal housing aid under a new bill to Congress. 50 000 Hear Paul Robeson In Jamaica

More than 50 000 people attended an open air Paul Robeson concert in Kingston Jamaica. A building overloaded with spectators collapsed at the Kingston race course killing one and injuring 26 seven of the injured were taken to hospital.
