Charles A. Stites and Pansy Patton observed their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house at the First Christian Church in Centralia. They wed on September 25, 1917 and have 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Hosts included family members from Washington, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Balboa and Centralia.
Mrs Lelia Smith and Mrs Dorothy Hamilton joined the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary at a Tuesday meeting. Betty Hollingsworth opened with a reading and a money making bazaar and bake sale were planned for November 4 at the Audrain County Courthouse. Ann Ash gave a slide presentation on the 12th Judicial Circuit followed by a social with refreshments by Colline Lipscomb.
Beagles School hosts Be Bo Bouncers 4 H Club September meeting with Bill Wilson presiding Eddie Smithey leading pledges and Tammy Wilson giving devotion. A hayride and wiener roast is planned for Saturday at 7 30 p m at Beagles School with hotdogs buns and sodas provided and finger foods urged. Nomination for first year man and first year woman awards will be made at the leaders banquet in November. At the November 28 meeting new officers for 1978 will be installed.
