Missouri State Fair May Not Lose Money
Missouri State Fair may break even this year after years of losses dating to 1901. Director Jerry Hermann attributes improved finances to a 50 cent adult ticket hike and higher admissions plus $147000 more from admissions and grandstand events. Total attendance stood at 307562, with adults dropping from 218000 in 1976 to 210000. Concessions rose by $9000 and other revenues pending. overall current estimates suggest about $1.1 million in receipts against similar expenses, though off season revenues remain to be accounted for and final figures come in July next year.
