CWF Celebrates 100th Anniversary at First Christian Church
The Gilman Guild Section marks a century of CWF with a turn of the century theme at First Christian Church. A skit on local women’s history features 1874 and modern figures, a musical number, and a birthday cake social. A library drawing contest invites first and second graders to submit 8 by 10 inch entries by November 2 with winners from each school.

Deimekes Honored At 25th Anniversary
Mr and Mrs Carl Deimeke of Martinsburg celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on October 12 at the Knights of Columbus Hall. They wed October 11, 1949 at St Joseph Church Martinsburg. Attendants included bride's sisters Lucy Deimeke and Matilda Scherder and groom's brothers Ray and the late Al Deimeke. A farm west of town has been home for 25 years with a luncheon and dance featuring Leo Erdel band of Mexico. Relatives from Town City Iowa Watkins Breese St Louis Bowling Green Trenton and other areas attended.

At the Oct 22 4-H Center meeting 13 members and 11 visitors attended a skating party planned for November 12 at Busy Beavers. Refreshments were provided by the Ethertons and Cleetons. The next meeting is scheduled for November 26 at 7 30 p.m.
