Judge Calls For Commission To Set Salaries

Missouri Supreme Court Chief Justice James A. Finch Jr urged a special commission, not the General Assembly, to set judges salaries. He urged more funding for the judiciary, more appellate judges, and amendments to the Public Defender Act, plus nonpartisan panels for public defenders. He noted rising appellate and circuit judges, with 29 appellate judges by January and 104 circuit judges, requiring expanded judicial personnel.
