Linn County R- levy hike fails in Brookfield vote
Brookfield Mo AP voters rejected a 50 cent tax levy increase for the Linn County R- school district. The proposal passed 325 to 270, 54.6 percent, but did not reach the required two thirds. The current property tax remains $3.75 per $100 assessed valuation. Superintendent Eldon Titsort said the hike aimed to attract teachers and combat inflation.

Two appointments were announced by Social Services Director James F. Walsh. Betty Adams of Jefferson City was named to direct the office of manpower planning and Phyllis J.
