Audrain County Historical Society begins spring and summer hours with Sunday openings starting March 4. New artifacts join refreshed exhibits in the Audrain Room, including a photograph tied to Hotel Ringo and a framed one dollar bill from Mexico, Mo. Plans for wedding of Donna Haever and Donald Adams announced with ceremony set for Friday night March 9 at First Presbyterian Church.
Forensic class students from Mexico High School directed by Mrs. Duane Rankin will present a DAR program at the Mexico Chapter meeting at the Audrain County Historical Museum Monday afternoon at 1 30. Mrs. Charles Vanlandingham will present the National Defense report. Mrs. J R Eckenberger presides. Hostesses named.
Laf A Lot Extension Club met Monday with Mrs Latty Fecht hosting. A letter from Mrs Ernest Lehto about the Commodity Food Program was read and a discussion on participating in food preparation followed. Projects included cancer bandages tray favors for hospital and Head Start volunteers.
Sandra Humphrey and Dewey Qualls of Mexico exchanged wedding vows at Friendship Baptist Church on Saturday morning in a 10 o'clock ceremony officiated by Rev. Marvin Jones. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B D Barnett, Route 4, Mexico, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Qualls Sr., 1520 N Olive St. Matron of honor was Mrs. Tim Polacek, sister of the bride, with Elliott Qualls Jr. as best man. The couple will reside in Salmon's Village. He works at MFA Soybean Mill and she at PlichER Jewelry Co.
Auxvasse Mr and Mrs Irvin Gruer announce the betrothal of daughter Kathy Gruer to Dennis Davidson son of Mr and Mrs Stanley Davidson of Mexico Route 4 The couple plan to wed on April 21 Kathy a 1972 graduate of R-1 North Callaway High School and Davidson a 1972 Mexico High School graduate now serving in the U S Air Force stationed at Norton AFB California Also notes Helping Hand Circle meeting at 2 PM at 803 N Calhoun St with Mrs Edwin Pollard hosting and Mrs Pearl Logan presiding
The Hisey Hoppers 4-H Club gathered at the 4-H Center with 31 members and 11 guests in attendance. Randy Maxwell demonstrated rope work as part of the program and a Heart Fund collection was taken.
