Natural Gas Price Hike Prompts Industry Criticism
The Federal Power Commission nearly doubles the producer price for new natural gas to 42 cents per thousand cubic feet, prompting industry complaints that costs to consumers will rise gradually. API says government should end price fixing, while a Foster Associates study projects household bills could rise 6 to 16 percent by 1980, with regional variations. Diana Rigg and Menachem Gueffen announce a trial separation after a brief marriage begun last July.
