Haldeman Surrenders at Lompoc Prison Camp
Former Nixon aide H R Haldeman, age 50, begins a 2½ to 6 year minimum security term at Lompoc prison. He arrives coatless, quickly photographed and fingerprinted, assigned a cubicle in a dorm of 30, and receives a number. The camp houses about 400 inmates with no fences, offers TV, library, and sports facilities, and allows six daily visitors. In a related note, St Joseph merchants oppose Sunday sales but fear repeal of blue laws may force them to allow it.
