Lori Shiverdecker of Vandalia was installed as an officer by Missouri Future Homemakers of America at the leadership conference held at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. Youth Shoots Brother Over Bologna Dispute
In Montgomery City Oliver Martin, 17, was shot in the foot by his 15 year old brother Joe after a quarrel over a bologna sandwich. Joe fired a .22 rifle while Oliver hid in the bathroom. Oliver was treated at Audrain Medical Center and is recovering. Joe was referred to juvenile officers.

North Cal Board Delays Bid Opening
North Callaway School Board delayed the bid opening for demolishing the Auxvasse site and gym heating work after receiving a single bid. A rescheduled bid opening is set for Tuesday July 12 at 7 30 p m. The board also announced new staff for 1977 78 including Beverly Small David Decker Sherrie Larson Ann Medlock Anita Northcutt Donna Gaither Angela Sheets and Steve Price. Kenneth Butler was elected secretary and Dorothy Klick treasurer. A budget hearing will be held July 12 at 8 p m. The resignation of Martha Stewart as high school cook was approved and the next meeting is June 22 to adopt the final budget.
