Army recruitment probes uncover fake diplomas and quotas
The Army CID is investigating reports recruiters doctored records to meet enlistment quotas after the draft. So far 107 recruiters reassigned across 37 states, with major activity in Syracuse, San Antonio, and Kansas City. The Army fell about 10,000 short of four month goals, amid disputes over graduation standards and vetting procedures. Col C F Greer of the 4th Recruiting District said few people are involved and San Antonio and Kansas City are under probe.
