Charismatics End Five Day Ecumenical Conference
The first national ecumenical charismatic conference in Kansas City attracted about 45,000 attendees across Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Episcopal, Presbyterian, Baptist, and Pentecostal denominations. Leaders hailed a new level of unity, while debates persisted in some churches over the gifts of the Spirit. President Carter sent greetings and prayers for wisdom, as participants prayed for him at Arrowhead Stadium.
