PFA Funneled $1.8 Million Into Officials Own Firms

Springfield AP report details four top PFA figures who steered about 1.8 million of the cooperative’s funds to companies they controlled during its four year existence. Court testimony alleges payments via contracts and mergers from a 12.8 million PFA securities pool, with no clear proof of profitable operations. Investors crowded the creditors hearing as trustees and officials noted uncertain contract execution and ongoing bankruptcy proceedings. The SEC and others investigated, with assets largely liquidated except for the Aggieville farm supply unit now in dispute. The creditors hearing resumes September 1.
